Informal Upright Style (Meyogi in Japanese): This style has a free with a curving trunk bending in several direction, with good primary branches on the outside of the curves and twisted but the tree still maintains a graceful and elegant shape which is pleasing ti the eye. Some important features for this style is that: Good root age system, which gives a feeling of great stability. Some trees have trunk line with nature curve near the base. By utilizing this natural curve, we can few more curves by wiring and thus make the trunk more interesting. These should be good primary branches growing on the outer side of the curves or bends but never on the inner side. The apes in this style should be perpendicular to the center of the trunk at the base. Recommended Species: Most species of plant are suitable for this style, mainly the Japanese Maple, Trident Maples, Beech, Practically in all conifers and other ornamental trees such as the Crab Apple, Cotoneaster, and Pomegranate.
